Electric road sweeper: the sensor was not faulty
Arrival
The hopper goes into safety mode. The hopper sensor is suspected.
What we measured
The 24 V on-board network, two 12 V batteries in series, drops to 3.95 V on the tester: a shorted cell, corroded terminals. When the voltage collapses, the sensor goes out of range and the hopper protects itself.
What we did
Work carried out following the de-energising procedure for electric vehicles (480 V), replacement of both batteries, cleaning of the terminals, coolant top-up.
What the customer gained
No sensor replaced for nothing, and a fault that does not come back.
